Steps for getting ready for the Filecoin sale1. Confirm your accreditation statusAll investors must meet U.S. investor accreditation requirements to invest via CoinList. Non-U.S. residents may also invest, as long as they meet the same accreditation requirements. There are 3 ways to confirm:
Submit evidence of income for the last 2 years (fastest option). Tax returns, W2s or other official documents with evidence of annual income over $200K (individually) or $300K (with spouse) over the last 2 years.
Submit evidence of net assets over $1M (excluding your primary residence), dated within the last 30 days. All financial statements should include your name, date, and the value of your accounts (this includes screenshots of cryptocurrency wallets). For US investors, AngelList will automatically check your credit report for outstanding debt, and investors outside the United States should upload a credit report.
Have your attorney, CPA, investment advisor, or investment broker review your accreditation status. AngelList’s accreditation verification process allows you to trigger an email to your reviewer. Your reviewer doesn’t need to be US-based, but must be licensed in their country of practice.
Step 2. Confirm your identityAfter you submit accreditation evidence, you’ll be prompted to submit the following details.
Individual investors: Name, address, phone number, date of birth, social security number or passport image
Institutional investors: Legal entity name, incorporation date and location, tax ID number. If you are not the only owner of the investing entity, please email [email protected] with the names of the entity’s major (10%+) owners.
