January Highlights 🚀
SBS-Boston Hackathon
We’re excited to officially announce the SBS-Boston Hackathon! This two-stage hackathon aims to connect the nascent ReFi community with students and developers interested in sustainability and web3. We’ll kick off the ideation phase on February 20 and will wrap up at SBS-Boston with an in-person Hackathon finale on April 14th. You can find out more info here!
Filecoin Green at Davos
Earlier this month, our Team Lead Alan Ransil joined business, government, and civil society leaders in Davos for the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting to discuss how blockchain and other web3 technologies can be utilized for enhancing carbon accounting and increasing transparency of sustainability claims. ReFi Roundtable
Earlier this month we hosted a very special edition of our monthly meetup with an incredible ReFi Roundtable! We brought in some of the most prominent names in the ReFi space to discuss the current state of the Voluntary Carbon Markets, carbon credits, and the latest updates on Verra’s public consultation on tokenization. Green SPs Update!
We’re excited to announce some recent updates regarding Green SPs! DCENT and SXX Future Data are officially the first Filecoin Storage Providers to complete the Filecoin Green auditing process! DCENT, an SP with over 45 PiB of capacity dedicated to the network, has been awarded with the Gold tier sustainability claim and SXX Future Data, the first Chinese SP to participate, was awarded with the Bronze tier claim.
