Introducing Filecoin Dev Grants
Have you been thinking of a way to greatly improve Filecoin? We’re very excited to engage our community to contribute to the Filecoin protocol, project and ecosystem. To that end we recently announced Filecoin Dev Grants, an opportunity for members of the community to apply for research and development grants. Grants will be issued quarterly, and the first deadline is September 30, so visit filecoin.io/grants for details on submitting a proposal.
Filecoin at Web3 Summit
Photo via @UFOStartLast week, Juan Benet appeared at the Web3 Summit 2019 alongside other speakers like Edward Snowden and Richard Stallman. Juan was there to discuss the progress made so far on Web3 and encourage other builders to continue to work toward making it even easier to develop.We’ll share the video here once it’s available, but check out Juan’s talk on Web3 from last year’s summit in the meantime.

Coming soon: go-filecoin 0.4
The next go-filecoin release is already in the works. This release will include all development work since the 0.3 series in early July. Key new features are piece inclusion proofs, chain syncing/restructuring, and also includes changes to dependencies such as GraphSync.
Want to help us test the pre-release? We’ve started pre-release testing in the community before releases are pushed to the user devnet. Help is especially welcome in the areas of chain sync performance, connections and GraphSync, memory usage and more. Join us!
