Today, we’re launching the first issue of Filecoin News. We’re excited to share all of the news, progress, and dev community happenings with you on a regular basis. We will also be posting a larger project update soon on our blog, so stay tuned!

This week we shipped go-filecoin 0.2.4, the latest version of the Go implementation of the Filecoin protocol. This release was a follow-up patch to the go-filecoin 0.2.2 release in May. Version 0.2.2 marked a significant change on behind-the-scenes upgrades, including support for the filesystem repo, migrations and storage disputes, a better message pool, proofs improvements, and bumps to libp2p and go-libp2p-kad-dht versions for more reliable relays and DHTs.None of this would be possible without our awesome contributors; thank you all for your hard work and contributions. ❤️Read more about all of the features, performance and reliability upgrades, refactors and endeavors and more on the Filecoin blog, or get in the nitty gritty details on the CHANGELOG.

At the beginning of May, we held the very first Filecoin Mining Community call. During this call, hosted by Michelle Brous of the Miners working group, we provided an overview of the project, early Filecoin use cases, project timeline and roadmap, research updates, and information for ways to get involved. Check out the slides, and be sure to watch the filecoin-project/community repo for future announcements, including the next call.
