What is FIP0036?
FIP0036 looks to tune up the Filecoin network’s tokenomics and incentive structure.
This proposal introduces incentives for longer-term storage commitments and potentially more favorable locked value (TVL) dynamics, which could contribute to overall network utility, stable circulating supply dynamics, and Storage Provider profitability and optionality.
The two primary ways it seeks to achieve this is by:
Introducing a sector duration multiplier to incentivize longer term sector commitment to the network
Adjusting the Sector Initial Pledge to target a higher percentage (50%) of circulating token supply

Why does FIP0036 matter?
It may be vital to support the network’s stability and TVL dynamics amidst a potentially extended crypto winter or global macroeconomic downturn
Longer-term incentives for storage commitments can further align the Filecoin network’s cryptoeconomics with its mission to be a data storage network for humanity’s most important information

Any Token Holder, Storage Provider, or Deal Client can vote!
This Poll will determine FIP0036’s eventual inclusion or exclusion in the upcoming Filecoin network upgrade. If failed, these changes to Filecoin’s tokenomics may not be reconsidered
