Filecoin and Ethereum Co-Fund VDF Research
At Devcon IV earlier this month, Justin Drake of the Ethereum Foundation announced that Filecoin and the Ethereum Foundation are co-funding the initial phase of research into designing ASICs optimized for running verifiable delay functions (VDFs). This investment aims to build randomness as a universally accessible public good. If funded through the next phase of research, this could represent the largest ever cross-blockchain collaboration. Juan Benet Presents at Web3
At this year's Web3 Summit in Berlin, Juan gave a talk called "What Exactly is Web3?" In this talk, Juan walks through the foundations of the Internet to arrive at the present moment in Web technologies. He describes the promise of Web3 technologies and emphasizes the importance of designing carefully for lasting impact.
